Air separator Termojet DN50 (2") 110°C/10bar TJ-CA-DN50M

The TJ-CA-DN50M is a microbubble and dissolved gas separator for large DN50 heating systems. Designed for boiler rooms, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings where DN50 is the main pipe diameter and the heat-transfer fluid flow rate reaches 7.5 m³/h. Installed on the supply pipeline after the boiler, it continuously deaerates the fluid without manual intervention.

How It Works

Hot heat-transfer fluid from the boiler enters the wide cylindrical DN50 chamber. The cross-sectional area of the chamber is considerably larger than that of the pipeline — the flow velocity drops to a minimum. A honeycomb coalescing insert of welded copper wires fills the upper zone of the chamber: microbubbles adhere to the branched wire surface, merge into larger ones, and rise to the automatic air vent at the top of the body. Gas dissolved in the fluid is released as microbubbles at reduced pressure and elevated temperature — and is captured by the insert in the same way. Pressure loss across the separator is negligible even at a flow rate of 7.5 m³/h.

Applications

• Boiler rooms with boilers from 80–100 kW and above. DN50 is the standard outlet for high-output boilers. The TJ-CA-DN50M is installed immediately after the boiler and protects the entire distribution network from microbubbles.
• Shopping centres, hotels, industrial buildings. Large heating circuits with multiple distribution manifolds — a single DN50 separator on the main pipeline ensures deaeration for all circuits.
• Systems after seasonal shut-down and refilling. Dissolved gas enters the system with each top-up. The separator removes it during the first hours of operation after start-up.
• Heating system renovation. When adding new circuits or after flushing, air inevitably enters the system — the separator neutralises its effect.

Is one DN50 air separator sufficient for an entire boiler room?
One separator on the main supply pipeline after the boiler is sufficient to deaerate the entire circuit. If the boiler room has several independent boilers, each requires its own separator or a shared one installed after the manifold.

Is a dirt separator needed separately from the DN50 air separator?
The TJ-CA-DN50M is exclusively an air separator — it does not retain solid particles. To protect against sludge and magnetite, install a separate dirt separator DN50 on the return pipeline, or use the combined TJ-CAD-DN50M.
