Description

Termojet External Manifold Cabinet No. 06 — a surface-mounted solution for installing an underfloor heating manifold with 14–16 outlets where preparing a wall recess is impossible or impractical. Mounts directly on the wall surface, occupying a depth of 125 mm. Dimensions: 1130 mm × 600 mm × 125 mm (width × height × depth). Body made of galvanised steel with decorative doors. Fully replaces a built-in cabinet where the wall does not allow for a recess.

Technical Specifications

Purpose and Installation Principle

The external cabinet is fixed to the wall with plugs — no chasing, no dust. The distance from the wall to the front edge of the cabinet with doors closed is 125 mm. The doors open for manifold servicing: checking flow meters, adjusting valves, manually isolating circuits. Space is left between the cabinet and the wall for pipe entry; pipes can enter from any side of the body (top, bottom, sides).

Difference Between the Recessed and External Cabinet No. 06

Both cabinets are designed for a 14–16 outlet manifold and share the same width of 1130 mm. Differences:

  • Recessed (cabinet No. 06 recessed) — depth 110 mm, height 575 mm, installed flush in a wall recess. Ideal for new builds and major refurbishments.
  • External (this cabinet) — depth 125 mm, height 600 mm, mounts on the wall surface. Suitable for renovation and installation in technical rooms without chasing.

Application Scenarios

  • Renovation of a house with existing finished walls. Chasing load-bearing walls is impossible or undesirable — the external cabinet installs in 20–30 minutes without any building work.
  • Technical room or boiler room. Functional protection of the manifold matters more than aesthetics — the cabinet shields the assembly from mechanical damage and dust.
  • Installation on a thin aerated concrete or timber-frame wall. If the wall is 100–120 mm thick, a recess for the manifold would occupy its entire thickness; a surface-mounted cabinet is the only sensible option.
  • Finished and operational site where underfloor heating is added later. No need to break out the finished surfaces — the cabinet mounts on the wall over the final finish.

Advantages

  • Surface mounting — no chasing whatsoever; no recess needs to be prepared in advance; suitable for any wall material.
  • Depth of 125 mm — 15 mm more than the recessed cabinet; additional space for pipes and fittings behind the manifold.
  • Galvanised steel — the body does not rust in the damp conditions of a boiler room or technical floor.
  • Decorative doors — the closed cabinet looks neat even in a living space.
  • The largest external cabinet in the series — accommodates manifolds up to 16 outlets; the full series is available in the Termojet underfloor heating catalogue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a pump-mixing unit be installed in the external cabinet together with the manifold?
The width of 1130 mm and depth of 125 mm are sufficient for a 14–16 outlet manifold. A pump-mixing unit adds to the overall footprint beside or above the manifold; in cabinet No. 06 this is feasible for compact units. We recommend checking the combined width of the manifold and the unit assembled together against the internal cabinet width before installation.

What is the difference between external and recessed cabinet No. 06?
The cabinets share the same width (1130 mm) but have different installation schemes. The recessed cabinet No. 06 (110 mm depth, 575 mm height) is set into the wall recess — the wall surface remains flat. The external version (125 mm, 600 mm) mounts on the wall and protrudes 125 mm. Both options are equally suitable for a 15-outlet manifold.
