Operating Principle and Installation
The manifold cabinet is a protective and decorative enclosure for the entire manifold group: the supply and return manifolds, the pump mixing unit (if present), thermal actuator cables, and connection valves. The recessed (built-in) cabinet is installed in a niche cut out or left during construction: the body is set into the wall and only the doors remain visible externally. This ensures a clean appearance — the system looks like a built-in panel rather than a protruding box. The niche depth for cabinet No. 05 is 110 mm plus the cabinet wall thickness. The recommended minimum height of the cabinet's lower edge from the floor is 40 cm for convenient access to valves and flow meters.
Application Scenarios
- New construction. The cabinet is set into the niche at the masonry or formwork stage — the niche exactly matches the dimensions 965×575×110 mm. Installers fit the manifold and run pipes before the final wall finish.
- Large private house (12–14 circuits). Cabinet No. 05 is designed for the manifold with flow meters — 13 outlets — the most common size for two-storey houses of 250–300 m².
- Utility room or corridor. The recessed cabinet conceals the manifold group in the wall of the boiler room, corridor, or storage room where appearance matters.
- System with a pump mixing unit. Before installation, verify that the combined width of the manifold and unit fits within the 965 mm internal space of the cabinet. If needed, consider the surface-mounted cabinet No. 05 with a 125 mm depth.
Advantages
- Concealed installation — no protruding boxes on the wall; the cabinet is recessed into the niche and closed with doors.
- Galvanised steel — resistant to moisture in rooms with condensation or possible leaks.
- Decorative doors — the appearance of a finished interior element, not a technical unit.
- Size for 12–14 circuits — the spacious 965 mm interior accommodates a large manifold with connection valves and thermal actuators.
- Complete cabinet series No. 00–06 for any number of outlets — you can select a cabinet that precisely matches your manifold.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a recessed and a surface-mounted cabinet?
Recessed (built-in) cabinet No. 05 is installed in a wall niche: only the doors are visible from outside. The surface-mounted (external manifold cabinet No. 05) is fixed to the wall: it projects 125 mm, requires no niche, but takes up more room space. If a niche is feasible — choose the recessed version.
Will cabinet No. 05 accommodate a manifold with a pump mixing unit?
It depends on the unit dimensions. The internal cabinet width is 965 mm. A 13-outlet manifold occupies approximately 630–680 mm. That leaves 280–330 mm for the unit. Compact mixing units for the manifold usually fit — verify the unit dimensions before installation.
