The Termojet TJ-W manifold with 4 outlets is a distribution unit with built-in flow meters for underfloor heating systems. Made of stainless steel AISI 304 with a thickness of 1.6 mm, so it does not rust and does not require replacement sleeves. The manifold distributes the heat carrier from the pump-mixing unit or boiler to 4 independent underfloor heating circuits. Each supply outlet is fitted with a flow meter (rotameter) 0–5 l/min with a transparent cap and a float indicator — you can see the actual flow in each circuit and adjust it manually. A longer loop has greater hydraulic resistance and, without balancing, passes a lower flow rate: the flow meter allows all 4 circuits to be balanced by flow and eliminates overheating of some rooms while others are underheated. The M30×1.5 sockets on the return manifold accept standard thermal actuators (24V or 230V) for zone-by-zone control.
An air-to-water heat pump achieves a maximum COP of 4–5 at a heat carrier temperature of 35–45°C. Underfloor heating is the only heating system that comfortably operates in this range: radiators require 55–70°C, which reduces pump efficiency by 30–50%. How does a manifold with flow meters differ from a manifold with valves?
A manifold with valves only allows a circuit to be opened or closed. A flow meter shows the exact flow rate in l/min and enables system balancing: setting equal or calculated flow on each circuit. Is a mixing unit required for the manifold?
It depends on the heat source. With a gas or solid-fuel boiler (70–80°C) — yes, a mixing unit for the manifold is mandatory: it reduces the temperature to a pipe-safe 35–45°C. With a heat pump that already supplies 35–45°C, a unit may not be needed — direct connection is possible.
