Air and dirt separator Termojet Dn40 (1 1/2")

The Termojet DN40 combined air and dirt separator is a 2-in-1 device that simultaneously removes air microbubbles and solid sludge particles from the heat carrier in a single brass body. Thread 1 1/2", flow capacity 6.8 m³/h, operating limits — 110°C and 10 bar. One installation point instead of two separate devices.

How it works

The heat carrier enters the separator's expanded chamber where two processes occur simultaneously. In the upper section, a coalescent insert collects microbubbles: they merge into larger bubbles and are discharged through the automatic air vent at the top of the body. In the lower section of the chamber, where flow velocity is minimal, solid particles — rust, sand, sludge, metal oxides — settle under gravity and collect in the sump. The drain valve at the bottom of the body allows the accumulated dirt to be flushed at any time without stopping the heating system.

Where and how it is used

• New systems at commissioning. Installing a 2-in-1 separator at system start-up immediately protects both the boiler and pumps from air and installation dirt — without two separate devices.
• Systems after flushing. After hydraulic flushing, residual gas and fine sludge are both present in the heat carrier — the combined separator removes both contaminants simultaneously.

• Gas and solid-fuel boilers. A single device simultaneously protects the boiler heat exchanger from gas pockets and abrasive sludge.
