The Termojet DN25 (1") angled magnetic dirt separator is the solution for heating systems where effective heat-carrier purification is required but installation space is limited. The unit combines magnetite Fe₃O₄ capture by a removable neodymium rod with gravitational settling of particles in an expanded chamber. The 90° angled connection allows installation in locations where a straight design simply will not fit. DN25 is the standard size for residential heat pumps and medium-capacity boilers.

The heat carrier enters through one port, flows into an expanded separation chamber and exits through a port at 90° — hence the name «angled». Inside the chamber, two parallel processes take place. The first is gravitational: the flow velocity drops and heavy particles (sand, rust, mineral deposits) settle into the lower collection chamber. The second is magnetic: the neodymium rod attracts magnetite Fe₃O₄ particles, which are too light and fine for gravitational settling but are reliably held by the magnetic field. To drain the accumulated sediment — open the bottom drain valve; to clean the magnet — remove the rod, wipe off the black deposit, return it to its position. Both operations are performed without stopping the system.
Heat pump owners face two problems simultaneously: the need to install a magnetic separator (without it, the plate heat exchanger gradually clogs with magnetite and fails) and limited space in the boiler room for additional equipment. The DN25 angled magnetic separator solves both problems: it is installed at the elbow joint of the standard heat pump piping assembly and takes up no additional space. If installation space allows straight connection — refer to the DN25 Dirt Separator (straight connection, same protection). If additional air removal is required — the DN25 Air and Dirt Separator combines both functions in a single body. Full range — in the Termojet separator catalogue.
What is the difference between an angled and a straight dirt separator?
The operating principle and cleaning efficiency are identical. The difference is purely constructive: in a straight separator, inlet and outlet are on the same axis (flow goes straight); in an angled one, inlet and outlet are at 90° (the flow changes direction). The angled model is chosen when there is no straight pipe section of sufficient length on the return line, or when the boiler room layout dictates an angled connection.
Is a flow capacity of 2,7 m³/h sufficient for my boiler?
A flow capacity of 2,7 m³/h for DN25 corresponds to typical heat-carrier flow rates in boiler systems up to 30–35 kW at a standard temperature differential of 10°C between supply and return. For higher-capacity systems or lower temperature differentials, consider DN32.
