Dirt separator Termojet Dn50 (2")

Termojet DN50 magnetic dirt separator is designed for large heating systems and boiler rooms with output from 60 to 120 kW and above. Flow capacity 10.1 m³/h with standard G 2" thread. Brass body withstands 110°C and 10 bar. Built-in neodymium magnetic rod captures magnetite Fe₃O₄ — the ferromagnetic iron deposit that no gravitational separator retains. Installed on the return pipeline before the boiler, indirect heating boiler, pump assembly, or heat exchanger.

How It Works

The large DN50 chamber volume ensures a sharp reduction in flow velocity — from the working velocity in the pipe to the minimum in the chamber. Non-magnetic particles: coarse abrasive, sand, scale fragments, oxides — settle to the bottom under gravity. Simultaneously, the neodymium rod at the centre of the chamber captures ferromagnetic magnetite particles circulating in the heat carrier in suspension. The dual action — gravitational and magnetic separation — occurs in parallel and continuously. For servicing: the drain valve at the bottom empties accumulated sludge without stopping the system; the rod is removed, cleaned of black deposit, and reinserted.

Applications

• Boiler room 60–120 kW. DN50 (2") is the typical return pipe diameter in commercial and large residential systems. Protects the boiler heat exchanger from sludge that reduces heat transfer and increases fuel consumption.
• Commercial real estate, industrial premises. Heating systems of large buildings generate significantly more magnetite due to the large volume of steel pipework and radiators — the DN50 magnetic separator handles the increased load.

Magnetic Separator and Heat Pump

How difficult is it to maintain a magnetic separator in a large boiler room?
The procedure is the same regardless of DN: open the drain valve — drain the sludge (1–2 minutes); remove the rod — wipe off the magnetite — reinsert (30 seconds). The system does not need to be stopped. Recommended interval: once every 6 months in the first year, then once a year.
