AUTO Operating Modes

Constant differential pressure (Δp-c). The pump maintains the set pressure difference between the supply and return regardless of the degree of opening of thermostatic valves. Δp-c mode is the choice for radiator systems: even when most valves are closed, the pump does not force the heating fluid through at excessive pressure.

Proportional differential pressure (Δp-v). The differential pressure decreases proportionally to the flow rate. When the underfloor controller closes some circuits, the pump reduces its speed — lower noise, lower consumption. The optimal mode for underfloor heating and mixed systems.

Why ECM is Better than a 3-Speed Pump

A traditional 3-speed pump consumes 80–100 W continuously. The ECM motor of APE 25/80 uses from 5 to 65 W depending on the actual load — the pump does not ‘speed up’ unnecessarily. In a real system, average consumption in a typical heating mode is significantly below the maximum.
