The valve is installed on the return pipe of the circuit. Rotating the spindle sets the number of turns (0 to 4), which determines the flow cross-section and — accordingly — the flow rate of the heat carrier through the circuit. The built-in measurement nipples allow connecting a differential pressure gauge to measure the actual pressure differential, then calculate the actual flow rate using the valve's Kvs characteristic. The preset position is locked with a special nut — the value will not change with subsequent openings and closings. For service shut-off of the circuit, the valve is fully closed without changing the settings.
Heat pumps are most efficient with uniform distribution of low-temperature heat carrier between all system circuits. An unbalanced system means overloaded pumps, uneven heating, and reduced COP. The Termojet SBV DN15 valve allows precise calibration of flow rate in each underfloor heating circuit or fan coil so that the heat pump operates at its design point. What is the difference between a static and a dynamic balancing valve?
A static valve fixes the set flow rate by mechanical adjustment — it is simple, reliable, and suitable for systems with stable pressure. A dynamic valve automatically maintains a constant flow rate or differential pressure regardless of network changes. For most individual heating systems and small commercial properties, the static SBV DN15 is the optimal solution in terms of price and functionality. How to correctly measure the flow rate through the valve?
Connect a differential pressure gauge to the valve's measurement nipples and record the pressure differential ΔP. Using the formula Q = Kv × √ΔP (where ΔP is in bar) obtain the actual flow rate. Compare with the calculated value and adjust the number of spindle turns. The procedure takes a few minutes per circuit.
